So, let’s weigh up both seats and you can decide which is the better choice.

Why The Window Seat Is Better

Any time I fly, I always choose the window seat, whether I’m on a short flight or a long-haul flight. Why do I believe that the window seat is the best seat on a plane? It’s all about the view.

If you’re anything like most other travellers, you’re going to love the view from an airplane window. Of course, that’s assuming that you’re not scared of flying and not scared of heights.

Enjoy The View

Some amazing views you can enjoy include deep blue oceans, green islands, yellow sandy beaches, varying landscapes and even fluffy clouds.

A Good Choice For Nervous Flyers

Cloud watching is a great pastime if you are a nervous flyer. Noting the different shapes and textures of the clouds can be mesmerising. Watching the clouds can help with slowing your heart rate and breathing. Simply think of them as a soft feather quilt or pillows, and you might find yourself slipping off into a restful slumber during your flight.

Added Bonus of a Window Seat?

The added bonus here is that you have the window to lean against as you doze.

The window seat is also the best seat on a plane for those who don’t want to be disturbed by their neighbours when they want to leave their seat.

Personally, I like the window seat for those moments when I’m working on my laptop. It’s almost like there’s an added layer of privacy. I can position my laptop so that my neighbour can’t see what I’m writing or watching.

Why The Aisle Seat Is Better

There are many who believe that the aisle seat is the best seat on a plane. Maybe it’s because they like to stretch out, or maybe they don’t like being in enclosed spaces.

More Leg Room

Some airlines have more legroom than others, so it’s essential to keep this in mind when choosing your seat. People who prefer the aisle seat can enjoy the extra space to stretch out their legs without disturbing the person seated next to them.

More Freedom

If you are seated in an aisle seat, you have the freedom to get up and go for a walk down the aisle without bothering your neighbour. Obviously, be sure to wait until the seatbelt sign is turned off.

An aisle seat also gives you the option to go to the bathroom without having to climb over your neighbour.

People seated in an aisle seat will also find it easier to access the overhead locker when they need to. There’s no need to keep your belongings under the seat in front of you. Instead, you have the opportunity to stand up and access your bag in the overhead locker any time you need to.

Added Bonus of an Aisle Seat?

One more added bonus of being seated in an aisle seat is you’ll be one of the first people to exit the plane. This could be super important if you have a short time between connecting flights or are on your way to a meeting.

What About The Middle Seat?

Honestly, I don’t know of anyone who would deliberately choose the middle seat on a plane, especially if they are travelling alone.

So now that I’ve explored the benefits of the window seat and the aisle seat, what’s your preference?
