Fabulous Flu Remedies
Winter is well and truly gone now but some of us (yep, me) have been unfortunate to contract the flu. Silly me, I failed to get my flu shot this year. Serves me right! Meanwhile, trying to stay positive and continuing to live a Passionate Life has become somewhat challenging. So, to get myself well and out there, my following fabulous flu remedies have come in handy.
Lemon Water
I have been regularly adding fresh lemon juice to my water. Ensure that you are using fresh lemons, not the juice out of a squeeze bottle. You might prefer your water to be hot, that’s ok, just make sure that you stay well hydrated.
Lemon and Ginger Tea
I have also been enjoying my favourite concoction, Lemon and Ginger Tea. I always, always drink this when I’ve caught a cold or just when I generally feel a bit “off”. It’s not a cure for the flu but it will help to boost your immunity, get much needed fluids into you and it tastes pretty damn good. Juice of 1/2 or whole lemon, Freshly grated Ginger, Hot Water, Honey to taste. Add ingredients together and pour in some hot water. Allow to brew for 2 – 3 minutes, strain and enjoy.
Diffuse some Essential Oils
Ideal oils for diffusing include Lemon, Malaleuca, Peppermint, Eucalyptus. The aroma is wonderfully refreshing and breathing in these oils will definitely help with congestion.

Essential Oil Compresses
1 -2 drops of Peppermint Oil or Eucalyptus mixed with cool water. Soak a face-washer in the blend and place over the forehead for relief.
Essential Oils Topically
1 -2 drops Eucalyptus Oil mixed with a base oil (fractionated coconut oil is my recommendation) and applied to your chest. Especially good before bedtime.
In time I hope to be back leading my Passionate Life like never before 🙂
