Throw something upbeat and fun on and have a little sing along or a groove. It helps set the tone for your day. Start it off with a smile on your face and you will face the day feeling more buoyant and energised.

Do not think about what has already happened, don’t stress about the future, focus on being in the here and now.

Take a breath, picture all those worries as a black cloud and breathe them all away! Take another deep breath and focus on the smells around you. Is it fresh cut grass? Flowers? Rain on the trees? What can you hear?

By bringing your focus to the here and now your worries will lessen, helping you to enjoy those simple moments.

Get Out Into Nature!

Take a walk in the great outdoors, or simply go outside and soak up some nature. Bask in the sun on your skin, the birds singing, and the breeze in the trees. 

Nature can help to ground you, to reduce overwhelm and restore peace. Reconnecting with nature can help you begin to notice the small joyous things in life.

Take Your Time Over Your Morning Coffee Or Tea

We live in such a busy time, always rushing and racing from one thing to another. So in the morning when you have that first cup of tea or coffee, take a few minutes to just sit and enjoy it. Don’t drink it while trying to stack the dishwasher, throw laundry on, make breakfast or in the car. Sit and actually enjoy it. Even if you have to get up a bit earlier than usual. Taking your time over that first cup in the morning is a fantastic way to enjoy the simple things in life.

What are the simple things you used to enjoy doing as a child? Before your crazy busy life took over? Think back to that sweet innocence and the pure joy you would find in the sunshine, muddy puddles, a cuddle or a good book!
