Hi there, I’m Dee and I’ve been a shift worker for more than 26 years!
Back in my early shift work days I struggled through life in a sleepy haze. I was permanently jet-lagged and not from traveling! Over decade of my life was spent in unhealthy relationships with sleeping tablets, medication and alcohol.
I drank and partied nightly (and sometimes during the day) in an effort to break the cycle of pain I was feeling. I suffered from severe mood swings, anxiety attacks and depression. I even alienated friends who were actually trying to be helpful and supportive.
Deep down I hoped that I could experience a life that involved sleep, relaxation, sleep, happiness, sleep and more sleep.
I PERSEVERED, EMERGED THROUGH TO THE OTHER SIDE AND THRIVED!
